The Closing movie of the Red Sea Film Festival is Valley Road by Saudi director Khalid Fahad. This light comedy is set in a small village, where a 13-years old mute boy named Ali (Hamad Farhan) leaves. His father Nasser (Naif Khalaf) stubbornly thinks that the boy needs medical care to overcome his disability. So, Nasser takes Ali on a trip to meet the local doctor. But the boy gets lost and starts his own adventure, proving the power of his ability. This good-hearted film is generous and optimistic in tone and present a view of the world where the older men are generally narrowminded and where love and loyalties will win out at the end. The young actor gives to the movie a distinctive touch. Most of all, Valley Road, is a movie with heart and soul that captures a slice of an idyllic place.
