The El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) has announced the lineup for its Feature Documentary Competition at the 8th edition, showcasing 12 compelling titles from around the world. The selection includes acclaimed films like Gianfranco Rosi's "Below the Clouds," winner of the special jury award at Venice Film Festival 2025, and Sepideh Farsi's "Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk."

The lineup balances established masters with emerging directors, presenting a range of stories from personal narratives to explorations of global conflict and societal change. Egyptian films are also well-represented, with Namir Abdel Messeeh's "Life After Siham" making a comeback.

The 12 selected films offer a diverse look at the human experience, challenging perspectives and fostering empathy through non-fiction cinema. The festival's Artistic Director, Marianne Khoury, expressed pride in showcasing Egyptian talent, while Head of Film Programming, Andrew Mohsen, highlighted the range of the art form in this year's selection.

The El Gouna Film Festival promises to be an exciting celebration of documentary filmmaking, with these 12 films at the forefront.
